Niallah Young is an trained chef, educator, and food justice advocate. Prior to consulting, she attended Culinary Arts school at Johnson & Wales University, achieving undergraduate degrees in Foodservice Management and Culinary Arts. After providing food education to children in Seattle’s South Park community, Niallah was inspired to pursue an Master’s degree in Education with a focus on Edible Education and Food Justice at Antioch University in Seattle, WA. Through her research she discovered how building community and making environmental changes to improve access to food and nature can positively impact the physical and mental health of youth. Her research amplified the need to mitigate the disproportionate health impacts experienced by communities of color due to low access to fresh food. Niallah has spent the last ten years building Sugar Queen Artisan Bakery, a small bakery business that is rooted in supporting BIPOC farmers, communities and using sustainably resourced food. She is the recipient of multiple grants and awards for her entrepreneurship and was highlighted for her success as a female founder in Inc. Magazine, Shoutout Miami, Voyage Magazine Miami, and Voyage Magazine Jacksonville.
